We are seeking a Data Architect/Modeler to support our current project team initiatives.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This individual will serve in both capacities-as a data architect, helping to define the overall architecture approach and process as well as a data modeler, hands-on experience designing, creating and implementing data warehouse/mart solutions.
  • This individual will need to understand the mortgage industry and work closely with the business areas to design the business concepts and data solution to meet their goals.
  • This individual will have a deep understanding of large scale data warehouse solutions in varying design patterns and how to translate it to simple business use case and value.
  • Individual must have a deep understanding and ability to anticipate the intricacies of a data warehouse/data mart project through proper data profiling, complex data modeling, integration and physical implementation in a SQL Server environment.
  • Candidate will provide specification changes and help to identify their impact on the development team.
  • Provides guidance during project team reviews at enterprise architectural meetings to facilitate identification of the right source of data to accomplish business goals.
  • Educate business data users on data modeling and data architecture concepts and importance
  • Works with peers, directors, business leaders and all aspects of information technology organization (IT) to ensure the data warehouse implementation aligns with data management strategy
  • Contribute to development of the data management strategy roadmap
  • Requires advanced data modeling experience, tactical task planning, and deep technical subject matter expertise. This individual should have the ability to deliver a world class, stable data warehouse design that meets the short and long-term demands of the business.

Work Experience:                                                                                                                     

  • 8-10 years working experience in a data architecture and data modeling role
  • 4-5 years working experience with ERwin Enterprise Data Modeler version 8 or higher
  • Experience with performance & tuning techniques and their relationship to optimize the data model design
  • 4-5 years of experience in performing in an enterprise-wide data quality, business data stewardship, and data modeling assignment, with specific focus on data modeling, design patterns, data flow diagramming, data warehousing, business intelligence and the complexity in aligning a metadata management program.
  • Hands-on knowledge of and how to apply within a data warehouse framework; an application and analytical reporting environment, aligned tools and techniques, and a service oriented data delivery for near real-time reporting including advanced skills in software development methodologies and possesses the ability to disseminate them to a team.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of high volume, high available processing solutions as well as knowledge of n-tier architectures and complex data modeling and architecture patterns.
  • Strong presentation and collaboration skills and ability to communicate all aspects of the job requirements, including the creation of formal documentation while demonstrating a sense of urgency in completing tasks and resolving issues
  • Able to deliver quality projects on time and within budget by using strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills.

Job Skills:

  • Experience in implementing data naming standards and policies
  • Experience with creating routines to automate model management  
  • Strong understanding of various data modeling techniques to support business intelligence applications
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data warehousing
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with SQL Server
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with data modeling and 3-5 years of experience using ERWin, normalized, dimensional & semantic design expertise, DDL generation
  • Minimum of 8 years of architecture design patterns, experience with n-tier platforms, data integration patterns and business intelligence data models.
  • Strong Experience working within Kimball Methodology.
  • Strong Experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse Bus Architecture.
  • Strong Experience in Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema, OLAP Cubes, Advanced Fact and Dimension Table Techniques, Slowly Changing Dimensions, Bus Matrix Mapping)
  • Experience translating business requirements into Data Structure requirements and logical and physical model.
  • Experience working and designing with very large volumes of data
  • Strong SQL Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write clear and concise creative content.


  • Willing to travel occasionally as needed (up to 10%).

Environmental Requirements:

  • Mainly sedentary; in an office environment. May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds
  • Flexible in working extended hours
