We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our team and support our client in Arlington, VA.  The developer shall perform and/or support requirements definition, design and prototyping, implementation, debugging/troubleshooting, verification, deployment, documentation and maintenance activities throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC) of moderately complex-to-complex IT projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the overall management of the software environment at client site. This includes implementing, Agile software development fundamentals, object oriented design, multimedia content development, web user interface designs secure programming practices and using tools like AppScan and maintaining other recommended industry best practices such as Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).  Manages, develops and maintains business applications in Oracle 11g/12g, SQL (2008. 2010.2014), Java, J2EE, XML/XSLT HTML, XHTML, Dynamic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, C#, Visual Basic, ASP, ASP.NET, Microsoft Share Point 2010 or greater, Microsoft visual studio, Site core, Cold Fusion and other Software identified in Attachment 5. Responsible for "baking" information security into all projects and products and understanding the effects of STIGS, Virtualization, anti-viral tools, DOD PKI CAC, two (2) factor authentication and Good technology on all projects and products. Participates in the development of the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation (DIACAP or its successor RMF).

Work Experience:

  • The ability to communicate with other Developers, DBAs, Testers and Technical Writers as well as non-technical staff
  • 6+ years recent experience working on Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) projects
  • 6+ years demonstrated experience with the following programs: Java, J2EE, XML/XSLT HTML, XHTML, Dynamic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, C#, Visual Basic, ASP, ASP.NET, Microsoft Share Point 2010 or greater, Microsoft visual studio, Site core, Cold Fusion
  • 3+years of project management responsibility;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • A track record of managing technical staff and financial resources through various lifecycle phases
  • 5+years of experience in business application design
  • 5+years of experience in data modeling and systems development, including:
    • Experience with automating business applications with email enabled agents;
    • Experience with implementation and installation in an online environment

  • Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques
  • Ensure websites and applications are 508 Compliant with the ability to troubleshoot and fix pages that are out of compliance
  • Ensure websites follow government security standards
  • May be called upon for troubleshooting/debugging expertise
  • Formulates/defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications and modifies/maintains business applications using releases and utilities from the manufacturer
  • Administers Databases. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs
  • Assists in all phases of software systems programming applications
  • Evaluates new and existing software products

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Computer science, information systems, or engineering fields of study preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:                                      

  • Relevant programming certifications preferred
  • DoD Information Assurance Work Force (IAWF) DOD 8570 IAT II (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP or CISSP) required
  • Security Clearance: Current Secret or Current Interim Secret clearance required

 Communication Skills: 

  • Excellent business and technical communication skills including the following: Email, documentation, presentation, Virtual, Telephone  

Travel:

  •  Willing to travel occasionally as needed (up to 10%)  

Environmental Requirements: 

  • Mainly sedentary work in an office environment.
  • May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
  • Flexible to work extended hours.
