We are seeking a Service Desk technician to join our team and support our client in Arlington, VA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision, provides support to end-users for PC, server or mainframe applications, and hardware. May interact with network services, software systems engineering and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems. Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties. Recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems. Refers more complex problems to appropriate personnel.

Work Experience:

  • Ability to write clear and concise content
  • Demonstrate superior customer service skills and passion for technology
  • Respond to End User Hardware and Software requests
  • Track all inquiries in ticket management system
  • Apply first level diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions
  • Resolve client issues using remote tools
  • Assist with software installations / updates remotely
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
  • Work with PM to develop monthly metrics for reporting purposes
  • Edit, type, and prepare memoranda of a technical and/or managerial nature 
  • Maintain logs relating to work in progress, meetings, etc. 
  • Work with Senior level technicians on documentation, involving flow diagrams, configuration drawings, functional systems flow diagrams, graphics, etc. 
  • Experience with ticketing Tools: ServiceNow and Remedy
  • Entry level knowledge of network/software fundamentals

Education:

  • Highschool Diploma required
  • BA / BS preferred

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • IAT II (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP or CISSP) required
  • 1 year of directly related experience supporting help desk operations preferred
  • Security Clearance: Current Secret or current interim Secret clearance
  • ITIL v3 foundations certification required

 Communication Skills: 

  • Excellent business and technical communication skills including the following: Email, documentation, presentation, Virtual, Telephone  

Travel:

  •  Willing to travel occasionally as needed (up to 10%)

Environmental Requirements:

  • Mainly sedentary; in an office environment.  May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds
  • Flexible in working extended hours
