We are seeking a Principal Network/Systems Administrator to join our team.

 

*This position is contingent upon award.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for day to day operations management of the network, including a broad range of LAN/WAN and desktop issues. Manages the 'system of systems' architecture development, partitioning of functionality among applications and components, and application interfaces/interoperability concerns. Provides expert knowledge of SNA implementation principles, routing protocol options, and LAN/WAN principles. Maintains awareness of system management and network monitoring and the operational support tools to maintain those functions. Provides for the management, testing and installation of security patches and cyber security products. Manages small to large operations projects in a cross functional environment. Anticipates future network requirements, and researches and analyzes emerging technologies and applies them to business needs.

 

Work Experience:

  • Experience with Network and System Design and Administration
  • Provide guidance on all existing and proposed architecture to ensure that the design supports strong performance and that proper monitoring/analytic tools are in place
  • Identify emerging markets and trends, and provide solutions for integration approach
  • Experience working with VMWARE or Hyper-V
  • Experience working in a cloud environment, including migration
  • Monitor compliance with current operating standards, guidelines and policies
  • Deliver stable and secure networks by ensuring that all design applies consistent methodology
  • Ensures that enterprise-wide automated systems are designed, developed, enhanced and maintained in accordance with Federal guidance, policies, procedures and regulations
  • Experience Mentoring Systems and Networking Engineers

 Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in IT
  • Experience in multiple infrastructure domains (Servers, networks, virtualization/cloud, security etc.)
  • Strong organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in wired and wireless network administration and engineering
  • Advanced knowledge of and ability to use PWS relevant hardware, software, and another common network and user equipment
  • The ability to solve network server problems or network infrastructure issues and to manage the performance and capacity of a VLAN / LAN / WAN environment  

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: 

  • Certified Network Engineer or similar professional network engineering certification Required
  • DOD Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) DoD 8570 IAT II (GSEC, CompTIA Security+, SCNP, SSCP) and IAM Level II certifications (CISSP, CAP, GSLC, CISM) OR similar security certification Required
  • ITIL v3 Foundations preferred
  • Security Clearance: Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility based on a current (within 5 years) Single Scope Background Investigation. Required 

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience (10+ years)

 Communication Skills: 

  • Excellent business and technical communication skills including the following: Email, documentation, presentation, Virtual, Telephone  

Travel:

  •  Willing to travel occasionally as needed (up to 10%)

  

Environmental Requirements: 

  • Mainly sedentary work in an office environment.
  • May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
  • Flexible to work extended hours.
